Inspirational Wall Art

Is It Art Inspiration Or Beauty Within Your Home?

What will change depression into inspiration? Inspirational wall art can bring beauty and art inspiration. This involves what moves you deeply and emotionally.

Pretty things add a mood yet something that speaks to the soul rooted within your beliefs is measured by another standard.

Words can often move us through things such as music and poetry yet we are visual by our very nature. Incorporating inspirational wall art to your life should be approached in the same way as that one song you return to which moves you in that moment when you need it.

As we are indeed visual it is important for us to be surrounded by those things which add value to our life and healing through these key senses.

Is It Enough To Have A Pretty Home?

Our living spaces should reflect who we are. This should extend further into reflecting what we need. Throughout life we spend a significant amount of time between work and home. As these times begin to shift and more people work from home the significance behind this principle becomes more important.

Those of us who work somewhere outside of our house we cannot always help the environment. Unfortunately the atmosphere we are within we come to dislike or hate. As we walk through the door to what we call home this feeling should not remain with us. If it does then this is not healthy to our mind and well being nor to that of our family.

It is easy to make our home pretty. Walmart sells pretty and if that is my standard of comfort for my life I may need to check my life compass. While there is nothing wrong with living within our means we are speaking to our life inspiration. I do not believe that what is sold by a cheap retailer would ever be allowed to define anyone’s inspiration.

Being pretty is hollow as it has no deeper meaning. It creates an atmosphere yet that atmosphere has not yet been defined. It is a picturesque setting with a sunset or a sunrise yet its characters have not been named. Home should allow us to find specific inspiration allowing us to remove the burdening cloak of the day at the door.

We should wrap ourselves within a new garment as we are with our family or ourselves alone. This is not a retreat into some magical safe space. Rather it pushes us forward into a direction we wish to go.

It is a place where we want to be tomorrow. It uses our problems and depressions of life as a fuel to create a better life. Everyone should get to know many of the health benefits from the arts which is often ignored.

Pretty simply exists. Inspiration is a call to action that begins to change our lives.

What Speaks To You?

Is what speaks to you a song lyric? What does it mean to you? Perhaps it is a picture of the past. Others may not be able to see the past but rather picture the future. Some are so deep in the mire of life that it is difficult to picture anything at all. Others find a Scripture within an ancient verse to recite as a proverb of meaning.

While we can hear and listen to these things which speak to us it is just as important to see them. To see what inspires us gives a tangible form to its meaning. It does not matter if it is the written word on our walls. What does matter is that we can look at it and see it.

Wall art can achieve this just like the music we listen to. It allows our mind to escape into something which begins to spark creativity. It may give desire or a passion to move forward into tomorrow. This is more than a mere escape. Rather it helps to create pathways where we visualize changing our life.

We each need to find what it is that speaks to us. We then need to begin placing what this thing is into a physical form that we can see and touch in order to bring it to life. This is part of creating a healthy home life.

Our Walls Reflect Our Life

If you look at the walls within your home at this moment what do they reflect? For many it is pictures of family. There is nothing wrong with this and it is wonderful. We all wish to provide something more for those we love and we must include ourselves in this better idea of life.

In looking at our walls what do they reflect that reaches beyond our family. As your children look at what you surround yourself with what is it that they see? How would they define what they see?

Those things which reside on your walls will define meaning within your life. They will also begin to impact your children. If our walls are filled with idols they too will have theirs for their generation. If we surround ourselves with objects and things we wish to have such as cars or fashion they will do the same. The problem with these objects is that they do not provide inspiration and answers to life.

What is it that you would want for your child to look to for inspiration? Is it an idol of a singing group or movie star? Would you want them to be surrounded by objects which denote wealth or the desire for things over the definition of who they are?

Purpose In Life Can Be Found In Art

Symbols are powerful things. I have detailed how simple symbols were found in historical cultures such as flowers. Likewise across the ages of history the Nordic culture left an imprint that we today see in its impact across Europe. The things people of history surrounded themselves with held a deeper meaning in that they spoke to some purpose to their existence and life.

Modern merchandising has had a hand in destroying meaning and purpose. In our world a kid must have the latest fad in shoes or clothing, perhaps dress a certain way, or the newest electronics to be cool. Lost is the definition to purpose of life in these products as we trade our hours of life in work by the way of money for something of little meaning.

The walls of your home should reflect a meaning which no merchandise can capture. What is seen in artwork should draw out of us the pain and problems to inspire us for changing tomorrow. I said before that inspiration is a call to action. It is through inspirational art with these symbols that we can envision a path that is our own.

For me wall art is not a commodity nor is it a piece of decor just to make my home pretty. As an artist I do have the ability to create things of meaning for myself and that is a unique advantage. I am able to place into the work a vision and a symbol of definition and purpose to life. Through this I can reflect on my direction, my path, and what it is that I seek to change.

While not everyone may have original art it does not stop you from finding items of inspiration. Nor do you have to be an artist. Nevertheless whatever that thing is and what it means to you let it have a place where it can inspire others as well.

Vintage Wall Decor

While this may not be on the level of art, vintage wall decor has always held a special place for me. It does not replace the need for an inspirational piece but does speak to our history. Knowing where we came from is just as important as where we are going.

Within these historical pieces we find further meaning to our life. Not all of our history will be good. Some parts we may wish to forget. Nevertheless history is remembered for many reasons ranging from nostalgia to also being a memorial to those before.

In this way we could call it inspirational. Real icons of history or of iconic moments that we look to with admiration give depth to life. These are examples within life showing the potential we have and the examples we wish to have our children see.

Vintage pieces always seem to speak to another time and place deeply rooted by meaning. They survived through time for a reason. They were held and cherished by someone at some point and we carry them forward in time.

Destination Defined By The Why Not The What

When we are children we often have a vision of becoming something grand. Sometimes that becoming is simple yet for a child it is still grand. As we get older and choices alter that vision we find ourselves in a place that is very different from that grand destination.

As an adult our real destination is not missed simply because we did not arrive at the what we desired to be. Rather it is more about who we are becoming and why. Why does one become anything? Is it for what we get out of it in a material means or is there a deeper meaning?

Symbolism through art speaks to this why rather than the what. Art allows for us to reach into a transformation of the why behind our life. As we come home and carry our burdens through the doors we know we shouldn’t let them in. They impact our relationships and interactions with those we love. They also impact how we see ourselves and the very thoughts within our mind.

In past years people began to sound off this idea of a space that they would call safe. Yet for me this idea is ridiculous in concept for we are never safe from ourselves if we are trapped by the wrong definition. Comfort is not found if we have lost the innocence and vision of a child.

Wall art is amazing for what it can give. In more ancient times the Egyptians would write their history on the walls of their tombs and cultural buildings. They would tell their story. It was not cluttered by the needless merchandising of their time. The question becomes what story do you wish to tell on the walls of your home?

An Artists View Is Always Different

My views of topics such as this have been called many things. I have been told that I have “interesting ideas”. They look at me as if I am some kind of radical or that my writing can be that of a nut. Perhaps it is true in the modern sense of speaking. Yet it is not true in the historical meaning.

I feel as though we have lost something important as a culture. This culture is not limited by a geographic region or nation. We are bombarded daily with so many negative things and the news never stops. We see our streets and how people treat each other. We live through how we are treated.

I do believe we have indeed lost something. Therefore if my little rants on the need for art in our lives is some kind of odd thing then let it be so. In a world that seems to have lost itself and its meaning I see no harm in finding something that does have a meaning and using it within our lives.

Inspiration is lacking within the world. I always seek to find a way to help someone create a healthier home that can bring something like inspiration. Wall art is one of the tools that I have found which I use in life to achieve this concept. It may seem simple. To some it may even seem nutty. Yet its impact is proven and real.

If only one person were to take what is given and see their world in a new way that helps themselves and their family it will be worth it. Then perhaps they too will inspire someone else to see their world in a new way.
